About April Blood
Based in Kent, England, April Blood’s style emerges from the rich soil of the Garden of England while embracing the musical traditions of the American South. Our songs create a unique fusion of Appalachian Folk and British Roots-Rock, embodying a distinctive folk-rock sound with a touch of alt-country. Imagine the vibes of First Aid Kit, The Be Good Tanyas, and Fleet Foxes. While our music is strongly guitar-based, we also incorporate an array of instruments like the harp, dulcimer, and harmonium, enriching many of our tracks. With lyrical depth and haunting harmonies, our music transports listeners from the mundane to a different time and place.
April Blood's unique style is shaped by the eclectic influences that have enriched the experiences of Paul Kelly and Tracy Vaughan Gough. Both spent time living overseas, immersing themselves in diverse cultures as they traveled. Now, they are merging their varied musical inspirations into a harmonious blend of folk rock, creating music that resonates with a wide audience under the banner of April Blood.
